Get out on the boat this Fall

How to Enjoy Fall Camping in your RV Reading Get out on the boat this Fall 3 minutes

When the season turns to fall it’s understandable to think that fun times out on the boat are over until next summer, but we think that there is an opportunity for continued fun being missed. Fall offers other experiences on the water, and we hope that you will save some time to take advantage of them before putting your boat into storage for winter.

Familiar settings with a whole new vibe:

Your boat may stay on a home lake that you spend many summer days cruising around seeing all the vibrant green of the trees along the shore watching everyone enjoy else go by on their boat tubing/water skiing, or ripping around on the Jet Skis. In the hype and hustle of summer this is the perfect place to be. Fall offers a different feel that is fitting for the season. Get a new perspective of your favorite place to boat. The leaves are turning with beautiful rich colors, the ski boats and jet skis aren’t out giving a peaceful calm to the lake. Switch up your onboard refreshments to iconic warm fall beverages and treats like hot apple cider, hot cocoa, or maybe a Pumpkin Spiced Latte if you’re so inclined. Taking an afternoon for even one fall cruise on the boat can spark a new favorite fall activity.

Find someplace new:

Popular bodies of water for boating can be overcrowded and any public launch can be a busy and overcrowded nightmare during the summer.  Fall is the perfect time to take the boat to those places you’ve thought about all summer and said, “I bet it would be great if it wasn’t so busy”. Now is the perfect time to go finally get to go to those places. They will be a lot less crowded on the water and at the launch than they are in summer, which means you can slow down and relax while enjoying someplace new. This is especially nice if you’re still getting the hang of backing your boat in at the launch, no traffic at the allows you to take your time. Take advantage this fall and take the boat for a little adventure.

Take the kids on a water bound scavenger hunt:

Turn the cruise into a mission for your kids to look for different things in nature.  Give them a list of wildlife or different plant life to look for. For younger kids they can practice their colors by pointing out trees that are turning yellow, orange, or red and then practice their counting skills by counting as many as they can.

Have a Dine & Dock date night:

You might be able to find a few restaurants in your area that have docks for you to use. Take the boat over for a nice dinner followed by an evening cruise or grab some dinner to go and have a relaxing fall evening dinner date while floating on the water.

There are still so many good times to be had! We hope you will take your boat out at least one more time and enjoy fall on the water!
