Now is a great time to start looking at the variety of parts that experience some wear and tear during the season. Many of these things get overlooked or forgotten until it is time to get the boat out next season, by then though it’s sometimes too late and a more expensive repair.
Here are 3 things to check before putting your boat into storage that don’t take much to repair and could save you money in the long run. We’ve also included a few upgrade options that you could switch to if you want to go a little further:
Transom Shower doors and hoses
These doors get swung open multiple times a season and receive a beating from the elements, and from passengers. In addition, the hoses on these showers get pulled, kinked, and exposed to weather as well. By taking a look at the current state of these two items during other repairs or winterization, you’re ensuring that they get stored in great condition and won’t be susceptible to issues later on. One upgrade option is to replace the nylon hose with a more durable stainless steel hose, and also replace the cap and cup that houses their hose and sprayer to ensure a quality durable home for their shower items.
Courtesy lights
Courtesy lights can also have problems like damaged covers, or low light output. Replacing these are usually an easy fix, with many having simple wiring and mounting options. There are also many upgraded style options and features, like different bezels and push button applications, that allow you to get your boat looking for up to date with all the function you need.
Table Covers
Do you have an ITC Party or Cocktail boat table? By adding a boat table cover, you’re preserving the quality of your table while it is in storage as well as next season when you’re not using the boat.
