Spooky season is officially here, and fall campers should get ready to celebrate Halloween at the campground. Plan some frighteningly friendly fun with awesome Halloween camping activities for kids and adults.
What better place to enjoy Halloween celebrations than at a campground? Here are some un-BOO-lievable Halloween activities to plan:
Trick-or-Treating
This one's a no-brainer, especially for those of you who love to camp in caravan parks! With ample caravans, camper trailers, motor homes, and tent doors to knock on, caravan parks are a pretty safe place for young ones to trick or treat. Even better, it’s a closely captured market for the parents in tow… there’s not a lot of distance that needs to be covered!
Campsite Decorations
Add some premade decorations to bring out the Halloween atmosphere. Consider bringing decorations that pack easily, like cobwebs, fake insects, small hanging ghouls, or inflatable displays. If you're camping with a group, turn it into a contest and award prizes to the “Best Decorated Campsite.”
Hayrides & Haunted Trails
These areboth fun activities for family members of all ages. Whether a haunted hayride or corn maze, it's sure to bring back nostalgia and fond memories for everyone. They're also a great way to get into the spooky Halloween spirit!
Campfires
Come October, campfires and Halloween are the perfect setting for telling spooky stories and tales. Tell one from memory or bring a book with you to read from—either way, be sure to set the stage to maximize the spookiness, and don’t forget things for s’mores!
Carve Pumpkins
Pumpkin carving is the quintessential Halloween activity for the whole family. You can bring jack-o-lantern pumpkins, stencil kits, and pumpkin carveing tools for some good, old-fashioned pumpkin fun. You can even turn it into a competition with the other campers around you.
Spooky Treasure Hunt
Spooky clues, haunted riddles, and hidden scary treasures are sure to provide loads of fun and laughter for family and friends. Write your own, or think of them together to get the kids involved in the creative process! You can even put together goodie bags with sweet treats, or hunt for hidden candy!
We know that everyone is different and may not celebrate Halloween. We wanted to provide a list of fun Halloween-themed activities that anyone can do while camping with the family or a large group of friends. Happy fall and Happy Halloween. You are SPOOK-TACULAR.
